Open Competitive Examination for the Recruitment of Graduates to Grade 3 - I (a) of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service for Sinhala, Tamil and English Medium Teacher Vacancies in National Schools of the Island - 2023 (2024) the examination was held on 2023 for fulfill the teachers vacancies in National schools in Sri Lanka.
According to the examination the examination department and the ministry of health select nearly 60000 candidates for intervie. After the interview the selected applicants can enter to the teachers service
The teaches service now become very important sector because the government has been increase the salaries. Normally Development officer service and health sector has low basic salari acals compare with the teaching service.
According to the good salary scales and the facilities this examination were very competitive.
The teaching hours (working hours) in teaching service very low because the schools are conducting 7.30 am to 1.30pm
Other one is the teachers can do private paractices that mean tution classes for the school children. It is the extra money income method.
