Mr. Peiris said.The Ministry of Education has recently taken steps to obtain the recommendations of the District Development Committees regarding the opening of schools in the Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara Districts in the Western Province, with the exception of schools in the Western and Isolated Police Areas. The recommendations have already been received from the Colombo, Kalutara and Gampaha districts and after receiving the approval of the health authorities, it will be possible to open many schools in the Western Province on February 15, the Minister said.
